Cheers and good day! The complexity of your love for us knows no bounds! You speak of us but then threaten the curious! Haha... we love it. Actually, there has been quite the conversation about our culture and how to maintain the right amount of clients, without having business suffer. There are other hot springs local to the Bay Area that are so incredibly overrun and sort of... well not so fun! So we hope to keep the vibe the same for you. If you have any questions, let us know! Sincerely,
Michael

Hey, I have the cat fight on my desktop. It's a little fuzzy, but very relaxing given the status of my workload. Thanks.

Hi there -

I think the gizmo you're referring to is known as a Lazy Kate, if it's for holding bobbins still while you're plying.

As far as oiling the fleece goes: if a fleece has been washed/scoured then sits in a bag for a while, then it can dry out. Some experts do advocate spraying the fleece with an emulsion of oil and water (usually olive oil or similar), then letting the fleece sit in the bag for 24 hours before spinning it.

Of course, you'll need to wash the spun yarn well once it's plied and in a skein. I'm not sure I would oil a fleece which is still "in the grease".

If the fleece is stiff and greasy, you could try putting it into a black garbage bag, then let it sit in the sun for a day or two. This often softens the grease enough that you can then continue to process it.

Whichever way you go, enjoy the process!
